Notice of commencement of an impact assessment

Ottawa — April 20, 2026 — The Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC) has commenced an impact assessment pursuant to the Impact Assessment Act for the Peace River Nuclear Power Project. 

IAAC, in collaboration with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, issued the following documents to the proponent to guide the development of the Impact Statement and the conduct of the integrated impact assessment for the project:

• Integrated Tailored Impact Statement Guidelines
• Indigenous Engagement and Partnership Plan
• Public Participation Plan
• Cooperation Plan
• Permitting Plan
