Notice of Determination

Edmonton – April 17, 2026 – Indigenous Services Canada has determined that the proposed  ATCO Gas Main Installation for NEDA Commercial Stage 1, Millennium Phase 1, and Community Recovery Center Project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

This determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:

• impacts on rights of Indigenous peoples;
• Indigenous knowledge;
• community knowledge;
• comments received from the public; and
• technically and economically feasible mitigation measures.

Mitigation measures taken into account for this determination are:

• Environmental protection measures for wetlands, soils, vegetation, wildlife, and migratory birds;
• Protection measures for encountering historic resources;
• Spill response and reporting procedures;
• Daylighting, Contaminated Sites Response, and Frac-Out Release procedures;
• Waste management requirements
