The Proposed Project
The Department of National Defence (DND) is proposing a project. The proposed Project consists of the replacement of the Main Entrance Bridge at 14 Wing Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Greenwood. The existing structure will be removed and replaced with a new bridge designed to meet current operational, safety, and infrastructure requirements while maintaining access to the base. The Project will be completed in several phases, including:
- Site Mobilization, including establishment of access, staging areas, and environmental protection measures;
- Demolition of the existing bridge deck and associated in-stream structures, with temporary retention of abutments where required for site isolation;
- Foundation work, including construction of new footings to support the replacement bridge;
- Trenching and utility installation, including directional drilling as required;
- Bridge installation, involving placement of precast bridge components; and
- Roadworks, including installation of guardrails, signage, and surface restoration.
