MIFN MEGH Cabin – Public Comments Invited
April 14, 2026 – Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed MIFN MEGH Cabin project, located in Mushuau Innu First Nation - Natuashish, is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The Proposed Project
The project will include the construction of a rustic cabin, a shed and two outhouses. The main structure will include three bedrooms, a bathroom with a portable toilet, a kitchen and dining space, as well as a living/recreational space. The site will be services by two outhouses, heated wood stove, solar powered lights, a plug-in portable generator and portable water. Access to the site would be provided by an upgraded gravel road (5m wide and 758m long – approximately 3800m2 total) with the buildings having a total constructed area of 150m2.
