Public Comment Period on Intent to Make a Determination

 

April 1, 2026 – The Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) must determine whether the proposed EV Chargers Project located at Toronto Pearson International Airport is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, the GTAA is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project: EV Chargers

As part of the Greater Toronto Airports Authority's (GTAA's) Toronto Pearson Airport Longterm Investment in Facilities & Terminals (LIFT) Program, new EV charging infrastructure to support the electrification of ground support equipment servicing Aircraft and GTAA's light duty vehicles (LDV) maintenance fleet.  The charging stations and infrastructure is planned in association with existing buildings and infrastructure.

Construction is expected to include trenching and excavation, material management, installations of new foundations, electrical infrastructure, connections and conduit routing for existing building, safety, and signage infrastructure.

Several sustainability best practices will be incorporated into the projects design and implementation for the wider Toronto Pearson Airport Longterm Investment in Facilities & Terminals (LIFT) Program.
