March 19, 2026 - As determined in the Summary of Decision on February 18th 2025, a licence was granted for Denison's Wheeler River project. Licence condition 14.1 of their Licence Control Handboook states that: The licensee shall implement the Wheeler River Project Environmental Assessment (EA) conditions and regulatory commitments. 

On February 26th, 2026, CNSC staff issued a letter notifying Denison that based on CNSC staff's review of the information Denison provided, the closure criteria have been met for the first parts of the following EA Conditions, as required prior to the commencement of site preparation activities: 

• EA3 (woodland caribou mitigation and offset plan) 

• EA4 (bat baseline survey) 

• EA5 (monitoring plans for adverse effects on wildlife species) 

With the acceptance of the closure criteria, Denison may commence site preparation activities under their licence. For a full summary of the EA conditions and regulatory commitments and their status, please see appendix A of the associated letter.
