The Proposed Project
The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project. The Canadian Forces School of Communications and Electronics (CFSCE) and Canadian Forces School of Military Intelligence (CFSMI) School Consolidation and Training Accommodations (the Project) will be located within the Vimy Barracks quadrant of CFB Kingston. Work completed under the Project will involve the construction of several new training facilities and accommodations buildings, as well as associated civil infrastructure. This infrastructure will include, but is not limited to parking lots, roads, and utilities; the work may also include the renovation or demolition of existing buildings within the work location being assessed in this EED. The Project is required as the existing infrastructure utilized by CFSCE and CFSMI are critically deficient, and therefore modern training accommodations are required to support operations and training at CFB Kingston.
