Notice of Updated Decision Statement

Ottawa — December 19, 2025 — The Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC) has published an updated Decision Statement for Site C Clean Energy Project (the project), following a notice of change submitted by BC Hydro and Power Authority (BC Hydro) on May 7, 2025. 

BC Hydro proposed a change to the installed capacity of the generating station from 1,100 MW to a maximum of 1,230 MW. IAAC reviewed the proposed change and determined that it would result in negligible potential for adverse effects within federal jurisdiction. 

To ensure that the existing conditions in the Decision Statement continue to apply to the project, the description of the designated project section of the Decision Statement has been updated to reflect the change in capacity.
