West Moberly First Nation Water System Improvements
This lnotification documents the environmental screening decision for the proposed upgrades to the West Moberly Lake Water Treatment Facility. The project includes the construction of a new water treatment facility, and upgrades to the intake system. The environmental assessment considered potential impacts to water quality, fish habitat, traditional land use, and cultural heritage resources.

As part of the environmental review process, ISC solicited public comments through the Impact Assessment Public Registry where the project was posted.
Environmental Terms and Conditions
- Implement erosion and sediment control measures during construction
- Conduct pre-construction surveys for species at risk and nesting birds.
- Engage with West Moberly First Nation to incorporate traditional knowledge into mitigation planning.
- Conduct ongoing baseline monitoring of area where treated water is being discharged to ground/ditch
- Ensure proper decommissioning and restoration of disturbed areas post-construction, including planting of native vegetation.
Determination
Based on the review of the above documents and the implementation of the specified mitigation measures, it is determined that the proposed project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects as defined under section 84 of the Impact Assessment Act. The project may proceed subject to compliance with the above terms and conditions.
