[Project Name] – Public Comments Invited

12 September 2025 Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Water Treatment Plant located in Waywayseecappo, Manitoba is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The Proposed Project

The Project is located on Waywayseecappo First Nation (WFN) reserve lands in Waywayseecappo First Nation, Manitoba, approximately 300 km northeast of Winnipeg, Manitoba. The site is located on Section 5, Township 20, Range 25 WPM on Canada Land Survey Record 60116 within Waywayseecappo First Nation No. 285 (the Site). The Project includes several components at the following locations (the Project area):

• A new water treatment plant (WTP) building and truck garage at approximate UTM coordinates 14U 365349 m E 5617604 m N

• A new raw water intake structure and intake pipe, located approximately 550 m from the east shore of Berney Lake, with a 

wet well and intake pumphouse at approximate UTM coordinates 14U 363941 m E 5616806 m N

• A gravel access road and underground power feed connecting the intake pumphouse to the WTP building

• A new concentrate line from the new WTP travelling approximately 50 m to the southwest to a concentrate holding pond and

discharging to Birdtail Creek at approximate UTM coordinates 14U 368536 m E 5618147 m N
