Notice of Determination

Edmonton  – August 26, 2025 – The Indigenous Services Canada has determined that the proposed ATCO Kainai Twin Rinks Gas Services Project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

This determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:

• impacts on rights of Indigenous peoples;
• Indigenous knowledge;
• community knowledge;
• comments received from the public; and
• technically and economically feasible mitigation measures.

Mitigation measures taken into account for this determination are:

• completing vegetation clearing outside of nesting periods where possible and the completion of bird sweeps prior to construction;
• constructing on previously disturbed lands;
• following linear disturbances;
• proper disposal of all construction waste.
