Notice of Commencement of an Impact Assessment

Ottawa — August 18, 2025 — The Joint Assessment Committee (the Committee), composed of members of the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC) and the Cree Nation Government, commenced an impact assessment pursuant to the Impact Assessment Act for the Shaakichiuwaanaan Mining Project (the project).

The Committee has issued the following documents to the proponent to guide the development of the Impact Statement and the conduct of the impact assessment for the project:

• Tailored Impact Statement Guidelines;
• Indigenous Engagement and Partnership Plan;
• Public Participation Plan;
• Cooperation Plan; and
• Detailed Permitting Plan.
