Opaskwayak Cree Nation (OCN) Bracken Dam Earthen Dike Extension – Public Comments Invited
August 13, 2025 – The Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) must determine whether the proposed Opaskwayak Cree Nation (OCN) Bracken Dam Earthen Dike Extension, located in Opaskwayak Cree Nation along the Carrot River (OCN 21I) is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
To help inform this determination, the Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The Proposed Project
Bracken Dam Earthen Dike Extension project, located in Opaskwayak Cree Nation (OCN) along the Carrot River (OCN 21I), is a proposed extension of existing earthen dike along the Carrot River by approximately 930 m. Total project size/footprint is 4,300 m2.
