The Royal Canadian Mounted Police must determine whether the proposed Shamattawa RCMP Detachment Fence Replacement, located in Shamattawa, MB, is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

Summary: Replacement of existing compound fencing with new high security fencing. Project includes replacement of approximately 850 feet of fencings, 2 double swinging vehicle gates, and 1 pedestrian gate. Potential to disturb environmentally impacted soil during construction activities. Mitigation measures will be implemented if impacted soil is encountered.
