The Proposed Project
The Department of National Defence (DND) is proposing to replace five existing culverts on Lower Spring Road and 11th Line at 4th Canadian Division Training Centre (CDTC) Meaford. Construction will consist of clearing the work area of vegetation, installing erosion and sedimentation control measures and cofferdams, as needed, removing existing fill, and existing culverts and any associated infrastructure, such as outlet protection measures or retaining walls. Any excess fill will be managed in accordance with federal and provincial requirements. Following removals, a new culvert, engineered fill, and culvert outlet protection measures (e.g. retaining walls or riprap) will be installed, in line with design requirements, and the surrounding area will be restored. This Project will ensure the repairs of any culverts identified as in need of immediate replacements and will allow for the continued safe use of the roadways.
