The Proposed Project
The Department of National Defence (DND) is proposing to carry out removal and replacement activities for corroded steam and condensate lines, including all accessories required for installation, in Steam Vault 1 ( SV1) outside of the Central Heating Plant (WP62) in Windsor Park, Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Halifax, Nova Scotia. The proposed work will consist of the excavation, removal, and replacement of 6.1 m of both the buried 250-mm steam and 100 mm condensate piping, including all accessories required for installation. The existing 20 mm steam trap, valves, strainer, unions, and piping, as well as the condensate piping, fittings, and flanges within SV1 will also be removed and replaced with new. The proposed work is expected to take place Summer/Fall 2025.
