Wasauksing First Nation: 10 Unit Residential Construction Project – Public Comments Invited

June 9, 2024 – Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed 10 Unit Residential Construction Project, located in Wasauksing First Nation is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

Wasauksing First Nation is proposing the construction of 10 new residential units on Lot 92 CLSR 55088. The project involves site preparation, utility installation (water, electricity, and sewer), construction of access roads and pathways, landscaping and the design and construction of the 10 homes. Each unit will be pre-fabricated and fully constructed off-site and delivered and set on the preserviced lots with the timeline of September 2025. The total footprint will be approximately 3,500 square meters (m2) with each unit being 350m2 for the lot and driveway.
