The Proposed Project

The Etobicoke Creek Pedestrian Trail located parallel to Etobicoke Creek along Convair drive was damaged in the July and August 2024 weather storms. A short-term project to fix the damaged sections and make the trail safe and usable for the 2025 summer season has been planned.

This temporary repair will use small equipment, including an 8-tonne mini excavator and a rubber-tracked skid steer. Crews will clean the trail surface and fill in the undermined and damaged areas. The fallen fence will be reinstalled and reinforced with extra posts for added stability. To smooth out the surface, EZ Street asphalt repair will be applied over the existing asphalt.

While this work will restore safe use of the trail for now, a long-term comprehensive design will be created to help protect infrastructure from future storms.
