The Proposed Project

The Lac La Ronge Indian Band (LLRIB) is proposing to develop a new subdivision in the community of Bell's Point. The proposed subdivision will allow the LLRIB to continue to meet housing demands for the next 18 years (until 2043). The proposed subdivision will utilize the existing water distribution system, sewage pumping stations, and wastewater lagoon. The project boundary spans approximately 46 hectares. Not all land within the project area will need to be cleared for development, and treed buffers will be maintained between lots and around project area boundaries where possible.

The proposed works include the clearing of land for development of roads and housing lots, the installation of ditches and culverts to provide drainage along new roads, the installation of approximately 3,865 m of water main lines with hydrants every 150 m, individual lot water lines, approximately 2,850 m of PVC sewer pipes, and one new sewage pumping station to service the proposed 136 new lots. Subdivision roadways will be constructed, with ditches and culverts included to facilitate drainage that will be directed towards Demchenko Lake. Power and street light design are being undertaken by SaskPower, and natural gas connection will be designed by SaskEnergy.
