Calgary – April 3, 2025 – Indian Oil and Gas Canada has determined that the proposed Authorization to Construct and Operate a Surface Lease for a log deck and a multi-well oil pad is likely to cause adverse environmental effects. However, the proponent's planned mitigation measures, and the support by the leadership of Frog Lake First Nation for drilling to occur in the area makes the potential adverse environmental effects justified for the development of the project. Mitigation measures are included in Appendix 2 of the proponent's submission.
