The Proposed Project

Red Earth Cree Nation is proposing upgrades to sewage pumping stations (SPS) situated throughout the community to service residential subdivision developments. Upgrades primarily consist of constructing building enclosures over the existing below grade wet wells at SPS 1 and 6, replacement of SPS 3, expansion of the existing building at SPS 5 to include a generator room, replacements/modifications to existing piping and controls at SPS 1, 5, and 6, and approximately 10,300 meters of sewage force main installations. The existing SPS 3 building and wet well will be decommissioning following construction of the new SPS 3.

Site preparation activities will include stripping of topsoil along the proposed sewage force main routing, the proposed sanitary sewer main installation routing from the existing SPS 3 to proposed SPS 3 location, and the proposed new SPS 3 site. Construction activities will include those associated with typical small commercial building construction, application of crushed rock and traffic gravel to the site, installation of perimeter fencing, and force main installation.

All anticipated waste generated by construction activities will be appropriately handled and disposed of at designated off-reserve facilities.
