YUL Montreal-Trudeau International Airport - Professional drop-off area at 800 Place Leigh-Capreol
Notice of Determination
March 21, 2025 – ADM Aéroports de Montréal has determined that the project for a professional drop-off area at 800 Place Leigh-Capreol at YUL Montréal-Trudeau International Airport is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects by applying the mitigation measures planned for the project.
This determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:
- Technically and economically feasible mitigation measures listed below;
- Community knowledge;
- Indigenous knowledge and impacts on rights of Indigenous peoples.
The mitigation measures considered for this determination are as follows:
Air quality
- Keep trucks and all machinery in good working order.
- Equip vehicles with a functional emission control system.
- Shut down engines on gasoline-powered vehicles and equipment when not in use.
- Regularly maintain the paths used by motorized equipment and buses.
Soundscape
- Use broadband or dimmable backup alarms.
- Avoid the slamming of dump truck doors.
- Minimize the use of vehicle reverse.
Soil quality
- Cover the soil with a geomembrane in the areas intended for the storage of materials.
- Manage contaminated soil in accordance with applicable regulations.
- Segregate excavated soils according to their degree of contamination.
Groundwater and/or surface water quality
- Protect storm sewers at all times from the release of contaminants during construction.
- Ensure a spill kit is available at all times.
- Characterize the excavated water before discharge
Accordingly, ADM Aéroports de Montréal may exercise its powers to enable the project to be carried out.
