Infrastructure extension (Cabonga Street) and lot development in Rapid Lake – Public Comments Invited

 

March 17, 2025 Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Infrastructure extension (Cabonga Street) and lot development in Rapid Lake is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The Proposed Project

The project consists of the extension of Cabonga Street infrastructure and the development of 25 residential lots, including : 

- Deforestation (street and 25 residential lots)

- Installation of a drinking water network over approximately 750 metres

- Installation of a gravity sanitary sewer and underground storm sewer system over approximately 550 metres

- Street paving,  curbs and concrete sidewalks

- Development of 25 residential lots
