Build Fire Fighting Training Area - 5th Canadian Division Support Base (CDSB) Gagetown

March 4, 2025 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) is proposing a project. The intent of this project is to develop a Fire Fighting Training Area at the corner of Champlain and Ganong Streets within the 5 Canadian Division Support Base (5 CDSB) Gagetown that meets the needs of the 5 CDSB Gagetown Firehall's on-site training requirements. Training items include a Classroom/Trailer, Burn High Angle Training Tower and Stairs (BHATT), Interior Hallway Fire Fighting Unit (IHFFU), Drafting Pit, Auto Extrication Pad, Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) Burn Pit.
