Little Grand Rapids First Nation Transitional Housing (Temporary Housing) – Public Comments Invited
February 19, 2025 – Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Transitional Housing (Temporary Housing), located in Little Grand Rapids First Nation is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The Proposed Project
The Project involves the construction and operation of a new 1,017 FNCFS transitional housing building on LGRFN reserve lands to provide recreational, emergency, and support services to youth in the community and their families. The Project also includes the construction of (Attachment 1, Figure 2):
• a 106 square meter detached vehicle garage at the Site for storage of maintenance equipment and vehicles
• a 109 square meter gravel parking lot
• new water & wastewater service connections to the Site from the adjacent road on the northern boundary of the Site
• site development including landscaping and installation/construction of outdoor features such as outdoor lighting, picnic/ gathering space
• connection of the Site to power, water, and sewer services from the adjacent road right-of-way, approximately 120 m north of the Site, including installation of poles and overhead wires, and open trench excavation for underground utility connections (water and wastewater)
