South Townsite Roads and Utilities Upgrades (Phase 12) – Garrison Petawawa

February 14, 2025 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project. Real Properties Operations Detachment Petawawa at Garrison Petawawa is proposing the completion of road and utility reconstruction for the South Townsite. The roads included are Borden Avenue and Wolfe Avenue. Work will include the removal of existing roadway and base granular material, underground infrastructure, sidewalk, curb, gutter, and street lighting along Borden Avenue, from Dundonald Road to Wolfe Avenue, and along Wolfe Avenue from DND Property Limits to Dundonald Road.
