Churchill Airport Terminal Building Roof Rehabilitation – Public Comments Invited
January 30, 2025 – Transport Canada must determine whether the proposed Churchill Airport Terminal Building Roof Rehabilitation, located in Churchill, Manitoba is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
To help inform this determination, Transport Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The Proposed Project
Transport Canada is funding the repair and replacement of the leaking roof of the Air Terminal Building (ATB) at the Churchill Airport (Manitoba). The Churchill Airport is owned and operated by Transport Canada and located on developed land. The long-term benefits that will be gained from this project are:
- Improved structural integrity.
- Enhanced energy efficiency and reduced heating costs.
- Compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Standards (eliminate slipping hazards and potential for fires, mold/mildew).
- Enhanced ATB client and staff satisfaction/experience.
