The Proposed Project
The Department of National Defence (DND) is proposing to construct an access control gate, on the access road to the Ammunition Depot at 4 Canadian Division Training Centre (CDTC) Meaford. The Project will consist of installing a control entry gate, able to accommodate 2-way traffic, with bollards, on the gravel access road to the Ammunition Depot. All power and communication lines will be buried and connected to the adjacent office building, M-282. Construction will consist of clearing the work area of topsoil and/or gravel roadway, trenching the communication and power cables to the adjacent building and backfilling of the trenches with aggregate, then installing the bollards and access control gate equipment. Following the completion of the Project, the affected area will be topped with topsoil in the lawn area and restored, while the roadways will be repaired for use. This Project will improve the security of access to the ammunition depot and streamline the entrance of any authorized personnel.
