The Proposed Project

The purpose of this project is to improve menstrual health and hygiene (MHH) for women and girls in the village of Mehé, Township of Meme in Mayo-Sava Division, Far North Region of Cameroon. This will enable them to participate fully in educational, cultural and civic activities in their community with dignity, thereby improving their health and well-being.

These longer-term outcomes will be achieved through both increasing knowledge about MHH, harmful gender norms, and participation of women and girls in decision-making and improving access to and control of reusable MHH supplies and WASH infrastructure for MHH by women and girls.

The project activities include construction of a women's empowerment centre, 6 toilet blocks and  2 boreholes for water supply.
