Pirew Sector Development (A, B and I) in Manawan – Public Comments Invited
December 23, 2024 – Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Pirew Sector Development located in Manawan is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The Proposed Project
The project consists of extending Pirew Street (775 l.m.) as well as the construction of streets B (490 l.m.), C (225 l.m.) and industrial park (530 l.m.) to serve 1 commercial lot, 12 industrial lots and 91 low- and medium-density residential lots. It will also include the construction of approximately 130 l.m. of servitude pipeline to connect to existing services and the construction of a permanent retention basin, which will require the refurbishment of approximately 50 l.m. of the existing stormwater network on Rue Asati. The project area is approximately 250,160 m2. A maximum surface area of 181,700 m2 will be cleared, of which 30,000 m2 has already been cleared for geotechnical studies.
