The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) is proposing to construct a new heating system for His Majesty's Canadian (HMC) Dockyard and Stadacona, Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Halifax, Nova Scotia. The associated project activities include demolition of the existing combined heat and power system, construction and installation of new heating system components, replacement/upgrade of municipal services and building retrofits. An assessment was previously completed for the project, however due to the time frame on the earlier determination, DND will be making a new determination. The proposed project is planned to be initiated in the summer of 2026.
