Notice of Determination 

Wye Marsh National Wildlife Area – November 12, 2024 The authority has determined that the proposed Resurface & Upgrade Paths to Improve Accessibility project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

This determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:

  • impacts on rights of Indigenous peoples;
  • comments received from the public; and
  • technically and economically feasible mitigation measures.

 

Mitigation measures taken into account for this determination are:

  • working around species timing windows;
  • following all applicable air quality and noise regulations;
  • sediment and erosion control measures will be used to prevent/limit the introduction of material into the waterways and air;
  • using clean equipment to prevent invasive species; and
  • checking the area for wildlife

The authority is satisfied that the carrying out of the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

Therefore, the authority may carry out the project, exercise any power, perform any duty or function, or provide financial assistance to enable the project to be carried out in whole or in part.
