Notice of Determination 

Prince Edward Point National Wildlife Area – November 7, 2024 Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has determined that the site improvements project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

This determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:

  •  impacts on rights of Indigenous peoples;
  • comments received from the public; and
  • technically and economically feasible mitigation measures.

 

Mitigation measures taken into account for this determination include:

  • working around species timing windows
  • installing sediment and erosion controls
  • following all applicable air and water quality, and noise regulations
  • daily wildlife sweeps will be conducted, and all wildlife encountered will be encouraged to leave the work site, work will only continue once the wildlife has left. 

 

ECCC is satisfied that this project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

 

Therefore, ECCC may carry out the project, exercise any power, perform any duty or function, or provide financial assistance to enable the project to be carried out in whole or in part.
