Notice of Time Limit Suspension with Reasons

Ottawa — October 31, 2024 — On June 22, 2022, the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC) suspended the 180-day time limit for the Planning Phase under the Impact Assessment Act for the Georgina Island Fixed Link Project (the project) proposed by Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation (the proponent).

IAAC has taken this action in consideration of a written request from the proponent that the time limit be suspended in order that it may have sufficient time to provide IAAC with a Detailed Project Description that includes the information prescribed by the Information and Management of Time Limits Regulations.

When the proponent has provided IAAC with its response to the Summary of Issues and any relevant detailed description of the project, IAAC will post a notice that the prescribed activity is completed and the 180-day time limit will resume.
