Bruce C Nuclear Project
Notice of Time Limit Resumption
Ottawa — October 22, 2024 — On October 21, 2024, the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC) resumed the 180-day time limit for the planning phase under the Impact Assessment Act for the Bruce C Nuclear Project (the project).
The time limit was suspended at the request of Bruce Power (the proponent) to allow for additional engagement activities to occur.
The proponent provided IAAC with an update on engagement and thereby completed the activity for which it had requested that the time limit be suspended on September 6, 2024. As a result, the 180-day time limit has resumed as of October 21, 2024.
The 180-day time limit is the period of time within which IAAC must provide the proponent with a notice of the commencement of the impact assessment, if IAAC decides that an impact assessment of the project is required. As of October 21, 2024, there are 117 days remaining in the 180-day time limit.
Comments on the Summary of the Initial Project Description for the project will continue to be accepted on the Canadian Impact Assessment Registry internet site until October 28, 2024.
