Notice of Time Limit Resumption
October 10, 2024 — The Impact Assessment Agency of Canada is posting this Notice of Time Limit Resumption in accordance with the Notice of Transition.
Ottawa — October 10, 2024 — On September 30, 2024, Eastern Power Inc. (the proponent) noted that its draft response to the Summary of Issues for the Hydrogen Ready Power Project (the project) provided to the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC) was deemed the final. On October 10, 2024, IAAC determined that this document contains sufficient information to inform its section 16 decision regarding whether an impact assessment is required. Therefore, IAAC is of the view that a Detailed Project Description for the project was not required. The proponent thereby completed the activity for which it requested that the time limit be suspended on August 12, 2022, and the 180-day time limit has resumed as of September 30, 2024.
The 180-day time limit is the period of time within which IAAC must provide the proponent with a notice of the commencement of the impact assessment, if IAAC decides that an impact assessment of the project is required.
