Paving and shoreline upgrades – Public comments invited

September 23, 2024 As part of its Project and Environmental Review process, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority must determine whether the proposed Paving and shoreline upgrades, located at 10880 Dyke Road, Surrey are likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. Written comments to be received by October 22, 2024

To help inform this determination and a decision on whether or not to approve the proposed project, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.  For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website. In addition, your contact information may be shared with third parties, e.g., the tenant, other relevant agencies, to help respond to your questions and inform possible mitigations.

The proposed project

Goodrich Terminals are proposing to repave an existing paved yard and a gravel lot and remediate approximately 70 metres of shoreline. Works would include:

  • Removal of minor vegetation
  • Installation of compacted fill and riprap to a slope of approximately 1:1.5 along approximately 70 metres of shoreline
  • Repaving an existing paved site of approximately 9,250 square metres, including:
    • Removal of existing pavement, subgrade preparation and grading
    • Installation of new stormwater infrastructure
    • Backfill and repaved  
  • Paving an existing gravel lot of approximately 3,100 square metres:
    • Removal of topsoil, subgrade preparation and grading
    • Installation of new stormwater infrastructure
    • Backfill and pave
