The Proposed Project

The Sexual Health and Reproductive Education (SHARE) project is funded by the Canadian government through Global Affairs Canada and is implemented by a consortium led by Right to Play International, in collaboration with WaterAid and the Forum for African Women Educationalists. This project aims to help adolescents, young adults and their communities access better sexual and reproductive health care in Mozambique, Ghana and Uganda. In this context, the following construction and related activities are planned to improve services in 10 Health Care Facilities in Ghana (3 in Kassena Nankana West, 3 in Kassena Nankana Municipal, 2 in Builsa North District, and 2 in Bongo District). Key physical works include installing new water distribution network/pipeworks (7 HFCs) and rehabilitating one (1 HCF); constructing a sanitary block for out-patients (6 HCFs) and rehabilitating toilets (2 HCFs) – all including drainage pipework, septic tank and handwashing stations; constructing double-chamber medical waste incinerators (4 HCFs); constructing (7 HCFs) and rehabilitating (1 HCF) adolescent youth-friendly waiting areas; constructing and partitioning existing consultation rooms (3 HCFs) and rehabilitating an existing one (5 HCFs); and various miscellaneous repairs.
