Public Comment Period on Intent to Make a Determination
Extension of Battle Road – Garrison Petawawa

Septmeber 11, 2024 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) proposes to extend Battle Road for routing traffic around a gatehouse/reception building at the entrance point to the Mattawa Plains Compound at 4th Canadian Division Support Base Petawawa. The project work is limited to the construction of the extension of the current Battle Road connecting it from Brindle Road to Passchendaele Road. The proposed extension of Battle Road will be approximately 1 km in length.
