Dorchester Penitentiary - Indoor Firing Range Construction – Public Comments Invited

January 11, 2024 – The Correctional Service Canada must determine whether the proposed Dorchester Penitentiary - Indoor Firing Range Construction, located in Dorchester, New Brunswick is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, the Correctional Service Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The Proposed Project

The proposed project would involve the construction of a new building with concrete footings, concrete walls and a steel roof, accessed by a new gated paved driveway and surrounded by perimeter ditching. The site would be graded to level the property prior to construction. The building would have electrical heating, be connected to the existing municipal water supply and would include construction of a new septic system.
