This notice of determination is being issued by Parks Canada under the Impact Assessment Act. Parks Canada has decided that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. This determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:
- Impacts on rights of Indigenous peoples;
- Indigenous knowledge;
- Community knowledge;
- Comments received from the public; and
- Technically and economically feasible mitigation measures.
In summary, mitigation measures, further detailed in the report, are required for the project to address the following: air, water, other aquatic organisms, wildlife, birds, soil, migratory birds, species at risk, and vegetation. A complete list of mitigation measures taken into account for this determination is available in the impact assessment report and can be obtained upon request.
