Photovoltaic Solar Power Plant - Canadian Forces Base Valcartier

January 31, 2024 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) is proposing a project for the installation of a solar power plant of approximately 1.5 MW. Overall gross area of 25 000m². Civil work to include: digging, irrigation system, and access dirt road around solar power plant. Electrical work include: electrical underground trenches, electrical substation building ~200m², overhead electrical line segment ~50m.
