Public Notice

October 25, 2023 – Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada must determine whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

Written comments must be submitted by November 25, 2023 to the coordinates listed on the project page.

The Proposed Project

Upgrade (Multiple) Towers

Iwantwireless.ca Ltd is proposing the addition of antennas in the 2.4, 3.6, 5 and 80 GHz frequency bands and the TV white space band, mounted at the top of 6 existing 5-46m towers and 1 new 46m tower replacing an existing 31m tower which are located at Sturgeon Lake No.154 (Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation) and Sturgeon Lake No.154A (Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation). The antennas will be installed to improve network access to high-speed internet. In the future, the existing towers may have other antennas and other radiocommunication equipment added or replaced.
