Sandy Bay Lagoon Upgrade - Le public est invité à formuler des commentaires

Le 6 october 2023 - Services aux Autochtones Canada doit déterminer si le projet de Sandy Bay Lagoon Upgrade, qui sera situé dans les Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation WAPASKOKIMAW INDIAN RESERVE NO. 202, est susceptible d'entraîner des effets environnementaux négatifs importants. Afin de contribuer à cette détermination, Services aux Autochtones Canada invite le public à formuler des commentaires à ce sujet.

Le projet proposé

A joint sewage lagoon upgrade is proposed to accomodate the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation and the Northern Village of Sandy Bay. The current population of the community is in the order of 1500 people.  The lagoon upgrades will consist of a 7.45 ha. primary cell and a 223,600 cubic meter storage cell.  The existing two cell facultative lagoon will be converted to a single storage cell, with the existing effluent discharge location and path being utilized.
