Membertou Timber Office Building – Public Comments Invited
December 6, 2023 – Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Membertou Timber Office Building, located in Membertou First Nation, is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The Proposed Project
The project includes the construction of a pre-fabricated mass timber structure, ventilated rainscreen wall system, and punched curtainwall windows. The building will be approximately 1744 m2 and will be built in a previously developed commercial area. Construction activities include construction of the building, grubbing and leveling of site, road and parking lot paving and lateral connections (water and waste water) into community services.
