Notice of Determination

Moncton – November 22, 2023 – The Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) has determined that the proposed construction of an industrial building, located on the Metepenagiag Urban Reserve No. 3, Moncton, is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

This determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:

• impacts on rights of Indigenous peoples;
• Indigenous knowledge;
• community knowledge;
• comments received from the public; and
• technically and economically feasible mitigation measures.

Note that no comments were received during the public commenting period.

Implementation of mitigation measures is required for the project to address potential environmental effects related to:

• Surface and groundwater;
• The land;
• Flora and fauna;
• Air and noise;
• Socio-economic, culture and heritage.

BDC is satisfied that that the carrying out of the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

Therefore, BDC may provide financial assistance to enable the project to be carried out in whole or in part.
