Tk'emlúps te Secwepemc CLC Stormwater Detention Facility – Public Comments Invited

September 19, 2023 – Infrastructure Canada must determine whether the proposed Tk'emlúps te Secwepemc CLC Stormwater Detention Facility, located on Kamloops 1 is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Infrastructure Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The Proposed Project

The project involves the construction of a stormwater management pond with outfall to the Thompson River. The pond will include a perimeter trail, benches, and signage. Initially, a temporary outfall will be constructed, consisting of an open channel lined with erosion control matting. Later, a permanent piped system will replace the temporary outfall.
