Naicatchewenin First Nation: Lot Servicing for Future Housing Construction – Public Comments Invited

September 13, 2023 – Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed lot servicing for future houses, located in the community of the Naicatchewenin First Nation is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

Naicatchewenin First Nation proposes this project to clear, service and prepare lots to accomodate future construction of homes. Utility installation for water pipelines and sewer pipelines will be >100m in length and the physical footprint of the proposed access road will be >100m2. Physical activities include grubbing of existing trees and shrubs, earth works related to site preparation and installing independent water and waste water services to each lot.
