June 20th, 2023 – The Montreal Port Authority (MPA) has determined that the proposed project Reconfiguration of a road of 550 meters, Port of Montreal in Contrecoeur is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

Mitigation measures taken into account for this determination are:

  • Management of nuisance (light pollution, noise and dust)
  • Protection of riparian strips
  • Management of excavated soils and sediments
  • Management of residual materials and hazardous materials
  • Protection of biodiversity: Installation of anti-intrusion fences, capture and relocation of species (with permit), protection of the bank swallow nesting box with a buffer zone
  • Compensation for tree cutting: Plantation of 2 trees for each tree removed (DBH > 10 cm)
