Amendment to the permit expiry date for the approved Kings Mill Park Shoreline and Habitat Work – Public comments invited

May 4, 2023 – As part of its Project and Environmental Review process, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority must determine whether the proposed Amendment to the permit expiry date for the approved Kings Mill Park Shoreline and Habitat Work is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. The project is located along the shoreline adjacent to Harbourside Drive in North Vancouver, BC.

To help inform this determination and a decision on whether or not to approve the proposed amendment, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website. In addition, your contact information may be shared with third parties, e.g., the tenant, other relevant agencies, to help respond to your questions and inform possible mitigations.

The proposed amendment

Concert Properties (on behalf of the City of North Vancouver) proposes to extend the validity of the approved permit (PER No. 18-074), which expires on December 31, 2023. The amendment is being requested because the project is dependent on the municipal approval process for the design of the related upland residential development (outside the port authority's jurisdiction). There are no changes to the approved construction activities or scope of the work.
